Having just played yesterday, the Gramercy Christian Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Christ Covenant Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Gramercy Christian is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Community Christian on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Gramercy Christian was outmatched by Community Christian and fell 85-42. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while the Cyclones are ranked 211th).

Despite their loss, Gramercy Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Riley Kincer, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards, was perhaps the best of all. Those 14 rebounds gave Kincer a new career-high. Even though they lost, Gramercy Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Christ Covenant posted their closest victory since January 7th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Trinity Christian, sneaking past 56-54.
Gramercy Christian better keep an eye on JD Dill. He was instrumental in Christ Covenant's win, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 18 boards. With that strong performance, Dill is now averaging an impressive 15 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Stein, who earned 20 points.
Christ Covenant's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Gramercy Christian, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-14.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Gramercy Christian has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 33.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Christ Covenant struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Gramercy Christian came up short against Christ Covenant in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 40-35. Can Gramercy Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
