Basketball Game Preview: Brush Arcs vs. Glenville Tarblooders

The Brush Arcs will take on the Glenville Tarblooders at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Brush easily dispatched Scott on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Brush fell just short of Sandusky by a score of 51-49 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Glenville didn't have too much trouble with Cleveland Central Catholic on Saturday as they won 54-40.

Glenville's win came from a few key players Brush will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Trevor Mcpherson, who posted 15 points in addition to five boards and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Xavier Vickerstaff, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards.

Glenville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Glenville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.6 points per game. As for Brush, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Brush skirted past Glenville 63-60 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brush since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
