Softball Recap: Northside - Pinetown Takes a Loss

After flying high against Currituck County last Wednesday, Northside - Pinetown came back down to earth. The Northside - Pinetown Panthers took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ayden - Grifton Chargers on Friday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2015.

Riley Hudson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Megan Hopkins, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Northside - Pinetown's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Ayden - Grifton, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Northside - Pinetown wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Manteo on the 4th. As for Ayden - Grifton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against J.H. Rose on the 3rd.
