Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Jesuit's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

Jesuit had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Barron Collier Cougars get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Kaden Waechter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Ben Burke looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Brody Smith, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Sheffield, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Jesuit is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Barron Collier, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 24-9.
