Basketball Recap: Davis Sr.'s Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Woodland on Monday, Davis Sr. came back down to earth. The Blue Devils fell 69-59 to the Rio Americano Raiders on Tuesday. The loss put an end to the Blue Devils' undefeated start to the season.

Despite the defeat, Davis Sr. saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rhys Crawford shot 55% from the field on his way to 25 points and five rebounds. The game was Crawford's third in a row with at least 25 points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Thomas, who posted six points and six boards.

Davis Sr.'s loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Rio Americano, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Davis Sr. wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-51 defeat against Ponderosa on the 11th. As for Rio Americano, they have also already played their next game, a 78-67 win against Oakdale on the 11th.
