Basketball Game Preview: Daniel Boone Trailblazers vs. Lake Norman Wildcats

The Daniel Boone Trailblazers will take on the Lake Norman Wildcats in a tournament on Thursday.

Last Saturday, Daniel Boone took a blow against Providence Day, falling 90-37. While losing is never fun, the Trailblazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 147th in Tennessee, while the Chargers are ranked tenth in North Carolina).

Meanwhile, Lake Norman put another one in the bag last Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Statesville as Lake Norman made off with an 88-63 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Lake Norman's win came from a few key players Daniel Boone will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nick Arnold, who posted 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tre Mckinnon, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.

Lake Norman pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Daniel Boone, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.
