Basketball Game Preview: Cascade Champions vs. Summertown Eagles

Cascade hasn't had much luck against Summertown recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Cascade Champions will face off against the Summertown Eagles at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Cascade took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Lewis County with a sharp 57-35 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-10.

Cascade can attribute much of their success to Kaegan Young, who posted 21 points. Sophie Ray was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Summertown waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Yellowjackets as they made off with a 57-31 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Summertown pushed their record up to 23-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.5 points on average over those games. As for Cascade, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-13 record this season.

Cascade came up short against Summertown in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 48-36. Can Cascade avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
