Basketball Recap: Glendale Takes a Loss

After flying high against Seneca last Thursday, Glendale came back down to earth. The Glendale Falcons were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 62-61 to the Van Buren Pointers. The game marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Glendale's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Van Buren, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Glendale Falcons take on the Joplin Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Glendale knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Joplin likes a good challenge. As for Van Buren, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Olathe North at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
