Baseball Recap: Mooreland Bearcats vs. Hooker Bulldogs
Mooreland had lost eight straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 8-15 to make it nine. They came up short against the Hooker Bulldogs, falling 14-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-17 two weeks ago.
As for Hooker, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
For Hooker's part, Justin Palacios made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Palacios was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season.
