South Plaquemines comes up short despite Timothy Williams' dominant performance

Recap: South Plaquemines Hurricanes vs. GEO Next Generation Tigers

The South Plaquemines Hurricanes suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of GEO Next Generation by a score of 51-49. South Plaquemines was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as GEO Next Generation apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Despite the loss, South Plaquemines still got an impressive performance from Timothy Williams, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Kameron Stephenson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

South Plaquemines has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for GEO Next Generation, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Plaquemines will face off against Jefferson RISE Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson RISE Charter will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for GEO Next Generation, they will head out on the road to face off against Varsity Opponent on Friday.
