Football Recap: Hillsboro Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Amony Anderson and Tytin Wells + How To Watch

Hillsboro lost against Carlinville back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hiltoppers fell 35-27 to the Cavaliers. The Hiltoppers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Hillsboro's loss came despite strong showings from Tytin Wells and Amony Anderson. Wells rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns, while Anderson rushed for 95 yards and one score on only 13 carries. Wells is becoming a predictor of the Hiltoppers' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 3-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't).

Hillsboro's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Carlinville, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillsboro will face off against Southwestern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Carlinville, they will challenge Pana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups.
