The Mercy Culture Prep Royals lost against the Ovilla Christian Eagles on January 4th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Mercy Culture Prep fell 39-28 to Ovilla Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mercy Culture Prep in their matchups with Ovilla Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
It was another big night for Sophie Henry, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds for Ovilla Christian. Henry is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Brenlin Garlitz was another key contributor, scoring two points along with five steals.
Mercy Culture Prep's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4. As for Ovilla Christian, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.
Mercy Culture Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ovilla Christian will head out on the road to take on Nazarene Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nazarene Christian Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
