Football Recap: Reed Sebastian's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sanger over Krum

If Sanger was feeling good fresh off their 73-23 takedown of Van Alstyne last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians lost to the Krum Bobcats at home by a 49-35 margin on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the Indians' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Sanger's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reed Sebastian, who threw for 287 yards and three TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes, and also punched in two rushing scores. Sebastian's passing game has become a key predictor of the Indians' success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Joel Rodriguez also helped with two scores in total.

Krum was led to victory by AJ Criss and Will Holland. Criss picked up 98 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Holland rushed for 154 yards. Holland is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 103 every time he's taken the field this season.

With the loss, Sanger broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3. As for Krum, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Coincidentally, Sanger and Krum will both be playing Gainesville the next time they take the field. The Bobcats will host the Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Indians will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
