Softball Recap: Texas City Find Success

Texas City posted their closest win since February 22, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Dobie Longhorns 7-5.

Texas City let Khamryn Werdlow and Trinity Denny run wild. Werdlow went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Denny scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave Denny a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Paryce Jackson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Texas City's record now sits at 8-3-1. As for Dobie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Texas City will head out to take on Ball at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dobie, they will head out on the road to challenge Kingwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kingwood will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Dobie surely won't give up without a fight.
