Soccer Recap: Effingham County Takes a Loss

Effingham County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the South Effingham Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

They hit South Effingham with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Abbi Jones, Riley Lapollo, and Corinne Mitchell.

Effingham County's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for South Effingham, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Effingham County wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Evans on the 18th. As for South Effingham, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Brunswick on the 17th.
