Softball Game Preview: Wimberley Texans vs. Bandera BULLDOGS

Wimberley has gone 8-2 against Bandera recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Texans will be playing in front of their home fans against the BULLDOGS at 7:00 p.m. Wimberley will be strutting in after a win while Bandera will be coming in after a loss.

While Wimberley's victory against Canyon Lake wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Texans skirted past Canyon Lake 7-6. The Texans haven't had any issues with Canyon Lake recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Charlotte Woodward spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Grace Strobel was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma L, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Bandera was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They lost 18-0 to Fredericksburg.

Wimberley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-14. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bandera, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.

Wimberley took their victory against Bandera in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 17-2 score. Do the Texans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the BULLDOGS turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
