Softball Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for St. Francis's offense. They fell just short of the Monticello Magic by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Magic apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

St. Francis saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Keding, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Keding's first of the season.

St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Monticello, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. St. Francis is set to face off against their familiar foe Princeton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Saints 2.9, the Royal Tigers 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Monticello will square off against rival Zimmerman at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
