Baseball Recap: Rowan County Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Rowan County nor Breathitt County made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Vikings fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-8 last Monday.

Rowan County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Richardson, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Rowan County's loss dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Breathitt County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Rowan County will be playing in front of their home fans against East Carter at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Breathitt County, they will head out to take on Morgan County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
