Volleyball Recap: Waverly's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Waverly can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Norris Titans on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Titans this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-0 defeat back in October.

Hallie Lauenstein paced Waverly's offense, picking up 20 kills. Lauenstein got some help from Gracie Lauenstein and her two assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Norris to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makinley Ramsey, who had 12 digs. Those 12 digs gave Ramsey a new career-high.

Waverly moved to 30-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-match winning streak. As for Norris, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 37-1.

Waverly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Norris, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Elkhorn North on the 8th.
