Baseball Recap: Franklin Gets the Win

Franklin took an 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Sharon, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights' pitcher stepped up to hand the Tigers a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. The game was the first time the Knights have beaten the Tigers on their field since May 24, 2021.

The result came thanks to Nate Fezell's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Franklin secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Nolan Parry, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Franklin's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Sharon, they moved to 11-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Franklin will square off against rival Hickory at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Sharon is set to take on their familiar foe Slippery Rock at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
