Soccer Recap: Lancaster Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Lancaster challenged Silverado on Friday. The Lancaster Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Silverado Hawks. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Eagles couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Arthur Palomera, who's now up to five this season.

Lancaster has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7-2 record this season. As for Silverado, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-10-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lancaster will welcome Antelope Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Silverado, they will host Adelanto at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Silverado is facing Adelanto at the right time seeing as Adelanto is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
