Softball Recap: Wonewoc-Center Wolves vs. North Crawford Trojans
Wonewoc-Center extended their losing streak to 15 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-17. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Crawford Trojans. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.
As for North Crawford, their win ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-16. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
For North Crawford's part, Olivia Barlow was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave Barlow a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Huber, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
Wonewoc-Center has already played their next game (against La Farge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for North Crawford, they have also already played their next matchup, a 14-9 victory against Kickapoo on the 21st.
