Softball Recap: Wonewoc-Center Takes a Loss

Wonewoc-Center had lost nine straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-17 to make it ten. They fell just short of the North Crawford Trojans by a score of 11-10. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Peyton Wafle was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Kaitlyn Olson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

As for North Crawford, their win ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-16. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

On North Crawford's side, the team relied heavily on Olivia Barlow, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Those five RBI gave Barlow a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Huber, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Wonewoc-Center wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-8 victory against La Farge on the 21st. As for North Crawford, they have also already played their next matchup, a 14-9 win against Kickapoo on the 21st.
