Basketball Game Preview: East Columbus Gators vs. Red Springs Red Devils

East Columbus is 1-9 against Red Springs since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The East Columbus Gators will head out on the road to challenge the Red Springs Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. East Columbus has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

East Columbus took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Jones with a sharp 64-39 victory. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Jaden Troy was his usual excellent self, putting up 18 points along with six boards and three steals. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zay Hines, who posted eight points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Red Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 41-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cape Fear.

Red Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for East Columbus, they moved to 3-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

East Columbus might still be hurting after the 74-52 defeat they got from Red Springs when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Thankfully for East Columbus, Makhi Arthur (who put up 19 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
