Football Recap: Killdeer's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

If Killdeer was feeling good fresh off their 64-40 takedown of Bowman County co-op [Bowman/Scranton] last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cowboys came up short against the Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson Mustangs on Saturday, falling 36-15. The matchup marked the Cowboys' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Trooper Stiles out in front who picked up 47 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. What's more, Stiles posted two receiving touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kazner Oxarart, who threw for 99 yards and two TDs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Killdeer fell to 6-1. As for Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Coming up, Killdeer will challenge Southern McLean [Washburn/Wilton/Wing] on Friday. As for Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson, they will venture away from home to challenge Fairfield/Augusta at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
