Softball Recap: Sunbright Takes a Loss

Sunbright extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-9 in the process. They lost 16-1 to the Oakdale Eagles. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Oakdale, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.

For Oakdale's part, Landry Smith was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hadassah Cooney was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one triple. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Katelyn Moore was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

As of now, neither Sunbright nor Oakdale have any future games scheduled.
