Basketball Recap: Bishop England Falls Short of Bluffton in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bishop England can now relate to. They took a 64-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bluffton Bobcats on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Battling Bishops can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Bobcats are ranked 37th).

Bishop England's loss came despite strong showings from Sam Pelsnik and Ben Turner. Pelsnik posted 11 points and three steals, while Turner earned ten points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Turner has posted since back in December of 2024. Drew Gallagher was another key player, putting up eight points.

Bishop England's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Bluffton, their victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-2.

Bishop England does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bluffton, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bobcats challenge the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wilson will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Bluffton surely won't give up without a fight.
