Basketball Recap: Grand Canyon Falls Despite Big Games from Jaemie Jensen and Amelia Walls

Grand Canyon played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Pinon Eagles, falling 54-29. The Phantoms were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.

Amelia Walls and Jaemie Jensen certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Walls posted eight points along with six boards and five steals, while Jensen dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten steals. Jensen has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 27 times she's played.

Grand Canyon is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for Pinon, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Grand Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-16 victory against BASIS Flagstaff on the 10th. Pinon has also already played their next contest, a 49-39 defeat against Many Farms on the 11th.
