Basketball Game Preview: Tea Titans vs. Mitchell Kernels

The Tea Titans will head out to take on the Mitchell Kernels at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Tea's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

On Saturday, Tea got the win against Aberdeen Central by a conclusive 64-43. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 125th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Mitchell, as they earned their first away win of the season. They strolled past Brookings with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 53-39. The Kernels haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Mitchell picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-3. As for Tea, their record is now 8-2.

Tea came up short against Mitchell in their previous meeting back in January of 2025, falling 53-49. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
