Baseball Preview: Cienega Bobcats vs. Sahuaro Cougars

Cienega is 8-2 against Sahuaro since April of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Cienega Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Sahuaro Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Cienega is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Cienega got a good showing from Preston Slanina, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (he also didn't allow any walks).

At the plate, Cienega saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Manny Bracamonte, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with a stolen base.

Sahuaro was handed a ten-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Pueblo on Friday. Sahuaro came out on top in a nail-biter against Pueblo and snuck past 7-5. The win was just what Sahuaro needed coming off of an 11-1 loss in their prior matchup.

Evan Krause made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (he also only allowed one walk). Krause was also big at the plate, going 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Cienega's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Sahuaro, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-13-1.
