Volleyball Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends Northwest's Winning Streak

Northwest and Lakeview squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Northwest had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in August of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ashlyn Lazarus paced Northwest's offense, picking up 11 kills. Lazarus were helped by Ally Sharrer and Elizabeth Kulick, who contributed 17 assists each. Lazarus was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

With the loss, Northwest broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 10-14. As for Lakeview, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-10.

Northwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakeview, after both having extra time off, they and Oak Harbor will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
