Baseball Game Preview: Brighton Bulldogs vs. Penn-Trafford Warriors

The Brighton Bulldogs will face off against the Penn-Trafford Warriors at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Brighton had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over West Mifflin on Monday.

Austin Sickler made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Sickler was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Austin Waltemath, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Aiden Tate was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, everything went Penn-Trafford's way against Norwin on Friday as Penn-Trafford made off with a 9-3 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Warriors have posted against the Knights since April 18, 2018.

Dom Delio looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Logan Matrisch was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Jon Lovre, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
