Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Finds Home Court Redemption Against Northeast

There's no place like home for Trinity Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 55-44 victory over the Northeast Eagles on Saturday. While the Lions didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Despite the loss, Northeast still got an impressive performance from Qimara Summers, who posted 24 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Summers is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Tianna Charles was another key player, putting up seven points and eight rebounds.

Trinity Christian Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Northeast, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Trinity Christian Academy and Humboldt will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northeast, they will square off against Holy Cross at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Northeast is facing Holy Cross at the right time seeing as Holy Cross is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
