Baseball Game Preview: New Life Camp Storm vs. GRACE Christian Eagles

The New Life Camp Storm will head out to face off against the GRACE Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Life Camp has three straight wins, GRACE Christian has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

New Life Camp is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 14-10 victory over South Wake on Monday.

Ethan Windley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Windley was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Seth Massie, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Neighoff, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Meanwhile, GRACE Christian lost 7-1 to Cary Christian on Wednesday.

New Life Camp's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for GRACE Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

New Life Camp took their win against GRACE Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 8-2 score. Will the Storm repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
