Recap: Conard Red Wolves vs. Maloney Spartans

The Conard Red Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by Maloney on the road and fell 38-7. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Conard in their matchups with Maloney: they've now lost five in a row.

Maloney's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Nedinsky, who threw for 200 yards and five touchdowns. Donte Kelly did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 98 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground.

Conard bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Maloney, East Hartford, and New Britain. As for Maloney, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Conard will head out on the road to face off against Hall at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Maloney will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Platt at 10:30 a.m. on November 23rd. Platt is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
