Football Recap: West Washington Takes a Loss

West Washington and Knightstown squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but West Washington had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Panthers, falling 46-7. The Senators were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-0.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Knightstown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jameson Crawford, who rushed for 109 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries, and also picked up 56 receiving yards. Crawford also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Panthers are 5-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Bryor Carmichael was another key signal caller, throwing for 307 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes.

West Washington moved to 5-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Knightstown, their record now sits at 6-4.

West Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Knightstown, they will head out to face off against North Decatur at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers' defense has only allowed 13.9 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
