Softball Recap: Hilton Head Island Comes Up Short

Hilton Head Island was the 17-9 winner over Bluffton when they last played one another on April 4th, but their luck changed this time around. The Seahawks lost 13-6 to the Bobcats on Wednesday.

Emelyn Chavira made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Victoria Marano, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Hilton Head Island's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Bluffton, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Hilton Head Island will challenge Hardeeville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bluffton, they will square off against Beaufort at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
