Football Game Preview: Newton Rams vs. Grovetown Warriors + How To Watch

The Newton Rams are taking a road trip to challenge the Grovetown Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Newton has given up an average of 28.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Newton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 42 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Grayson on Friday. They had to suffer through a 50-3 loss at the hands of Grayson. While losing is never fun, Newton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Grayson is ranked first).

Newton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Omarion Wallace and Braylon Miller. Wallace has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last four times he's played.

Meanwhile, Grovetown lost to South Gwinnett on the road by a 26-7 margin on Friday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grovetown's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Newton, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Newton against Grovetown in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 60-24 win. In that contest, the Rams amassed a halftime lead of 47-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
