Head-Royce is 8-2 against Athenian since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Jayhawks will take on the Owls at 4:00 p.m. Head-Royce's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Athenian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Head-Royce will head out to face Athenian after giving up their first home loss of the season on Monday. The Jayhawks took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Joseph Notre Dame. The game marked the Jayhawks' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Ezra Goldfarb and Kaden Choi stepped up to the plate in a big way. Goldfarb went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI, while Choi went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Judah Forst also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Athenian finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell just short of Redwood Christian by a score of 4-2. The Owls' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Head-Royce's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-5. As for Athenian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.

Head-Royce skirted past Athenian 5-4 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jayhawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
