Volleyball Game Preview: Skyline Falcons vs. Erie Tigers

Skyline hasn't had much luck against Erie recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 6:15 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Skyline came up short against Holy Family on Thursday, falling 3-0.

While Skyline was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Holy Family's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Erie didn't have quite enough to beat Mead on Thursday and fell 3-2. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mavericks 25-21 in the first set.

The 3-2 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Erie lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-23, 14-25, 25-23, 15-12.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Erie, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.

Skyline suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Erie in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
