Basketball Recap: Maya Takes a Loss

Maya was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Learning Foundation & Performing Arts Wolves , falling 22-0. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Wolves are ranked 96th).

Learning Foundation & Performing Arts' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Temina Rhone, who posted eight points.

Maya's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Learning Foundation & Performing Arts, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Maya wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-0 loss against Imagine Prep on the 16th. As for Learning Foundation & Performing Arts, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 40-34 defeat against Ville de Marie Academy on the 17th.
