Baseball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield was the 7-6 winner over Western Reserve when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils on Monday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Noah Troggio and Cooper Ensley stepped up to the plate in a big way. Troggio went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run, while Ensley went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Troggio is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Alec Fusco also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Western Reserve, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4.

While Springfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
