Softball Recap: Ludlow Triumphs

Ludlow proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 15) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Villa Madonna Vikings 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since April 17, 2024.

Evie Orsua spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Shelby Ralston was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Miley Lay was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Ludlow's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Villa Madonna, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ludlow will host Holmes at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Villa Madonna, they will be playing at home against Dixie Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
