Baseball Game Preview: Pilot Point Bearcats vs. Boyd Yellowjackets

Pilot Point hasn't had much luck against Boyd recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bearcats will look to defend their home field against the Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m.

Pilot Point is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They came up short against Paradise, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, Boyd got themselves on the board against Ponder on Friday, but Ponder never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Lions. Considering the Yellowjackets have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Boyd has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Pilot Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Pilot Point might still be hurting after the 21-1 loss they got from Boyd in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Bearcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
