Volleyball Recap: Washington Hatchets vs. Forest Park Rangers

If Washington was riding high off their 3-0 takedown of North Daviess last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Washington Hatchets took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forest Park Rangers on Saturday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Hatchets were not able to get on the board.

While Washington was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by three points or less. After all that action, the final score was 25-23, 27-25.

Despite the loss, Washington saw an underclassman step up: Kennedy Barnard had seven digs and two aces.

Forest Park can attribute much of their success to Emma Lagrange, who had four digs. Lagrange is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted nine or more in the last nine games she's played dating back to last season.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Forest Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Washington will challenge Perry Central at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Forest Park, they are on the road again on Saturday to play Pike Central at 3:00 p.m.
