Basketball Game Preview: Wilson Central Wildcats vs. Green Hill Hawks

Wilson Central is 2-7 against Green Hill since December of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Both will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. Wilson Central will be strutting in after a win while Green Hill will be coming in after a defeat.

While Wilson Central didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 50-41 victory over Mount Juliet on Friday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 305th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Green Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-53 heartbreaker at the hands of Rockvale.

Wilson Central's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Green Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Wilson Central didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Green Hill when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 58-52 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wilson Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
