Basketball Recap: Evans Comes Up Short

After soaring to 69 points the game before, Evans was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Anacoco Indians and fell 57-22. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-4 last Saturday.

Anacoco found their leader in freshman Landon Tinsley, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Tinsley also set a new season-high mark in three-point shooting accuracy with 60%. Another player making a difference was Dylan Mayo, who went 5-for-6 to rack up 11 points.

Evans has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Anacoco, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Evans will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pickering at 6:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Anacoco, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 38-37 victory against Zwolle on the 22nd.
