Recap: Dover Pirates vs. Dardanelle Sand Lizards
The Dardanelle Sand Lizards typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Dover Pirates proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 49-44 win over the Sand Lizards. This was payback for Dover, who suffered a 55-39 loss the last time these two teams met.
Logan Young continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was her 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Carley Nantze, who scored nine points.
Dover's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Dardanelle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4.
Dover will look to defend their home court on Friday against Baptist Prep at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arkansas (Baptist Prep is ranked 45th, while Dover is ranked 35th). Dardanelle and Mena will face off at 4:30 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
