Weddington hadn't done well against Cuthbertson recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Weddington Warriors blew past the Cuthbertson Cavaliers 62-41. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Weddington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalie Poole, who posted ten points and five steals. That's the most steals Poole has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Motto, who scored ten points and seven rebounds.

Weddington was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cuthbertson only racked up five assists.

Despite the loss, Cuthbertson still got an impressive performance from Amayah Rogers, who went 11 of 15 on her way to 27 points and four blocks. That was a full 65.9% of Cuthbertson's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Prisbel Nkembeng was another key player, putting up four points along with eight boards and three steals.

Weddington is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 37.9% in those games and 28.9% outside of them. As for Cuthbertson, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Looking ahead, Weddington will host Porter Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Porter Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Cuthbertson, they will head out to challenge Forest Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Forest Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.1 points per game this season.
