Soccer Game Preview: Perris vs. Lakeside

The Perris Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Lakeside Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Perris is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Perris' defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Rancho Christian. The Panthers' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

They hit Rancho Christian with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Angel Villar (2), Axel Martinez, and Hugo Gonzalez.

Meanwhile, Lakeside lost 5-2 to Hillcrest on Thursday.

Perris' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those five games. As for Lakeside, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1.

Perris beat Lakeside by a goal when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Perris since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
